Description
CLEN-PHARM (Clenbuterol Hydrochloride Tablets 40 mcg), Oral tablets contains Clenbuterol Hcl 40 µg.
Pharmacodynamics
Pharmacological group: bronchodilators; asthmatics
Clenbuterol Hcl is effective bronchodilator used to treat asthma and other conditions with reversible airway narrowing. This implies selective beta2-receptor stimulation. Moreover, Clenbuterol is partial agonist. These features contribute to the low incidence of beta-agonist adverse effects. Clenbuterol differs from other specific beta2-sympathomimetics rapid and total absorption after oral and inhalation administration, an effective low dose, long biological half-life of only a small proportion is metabolized. After oral administration, the effect of plant Clenbuterol tablets onset ranging from 50 to 20 minutes in duration and 14 hours. After the onset of inhalation dose effect within 5 minutes.
Indications and Usage
Clenbuterol tablets are indicated for the prevention and long-term bronchodilatory treatment of asthma and other conditions accompanied by a reversible narrowing of the airways, such as chronic obstructive bronchitis. In the treatment of asthma should consider the current anti-inflammatory treatment.
Dosage and Administration
A usual oral dose is 20 micrograms twice daily; doses of up to 40 micrograms twice daily have occasionally been recommended.

Therapeutic doses may rarely cause restlessness, muscle cramps, arrhythmias, and tachycardia. In very rare cases have been reported allergic reactions. As with all inhalation therapy, after the inhalation, may experience irritation, cough and paradoxical bronchoconstriction. Treatment of beta2-mimetics may result in severe hypokalemia.
Overdose
Symptoms
Symptoms of overdose corresponding excessive beta-mimetic stimulation. This includes symptoms listed as side effects, hypertension, hypotension, widening difference between systolic and diastolic pressures angina pain and arrhythmia.
Therapy
Treatment consists of drug discontinuation and appropriate symptomatic treatment.
The administration of sedatives, tranquilizers, in severe cases, intensive therapy.
As specific antidotes are suitable non-selective beta-receptor blockers such as propranolol. Account must be taken because an increase in airway obstruction in bronchial asthma patients should beta-blockers dosage carefully adjusted.
Treatment of overdose antidote should be combined in a short interval, depending on symptoms. It should be remembered that the effect of Clenbuterol may take longer than the effect of antidotes, it is necessary to repeat administration of beta-blocker.
